The Angelina County Commissioners’ Court ruled unanimously today to accept a donation made by Real Graphics to make available stickers that say ‘In God We Trust’ for Angelina County Sheriff patrol vehicles.
The crowd gathered to hear the ruling flowed into the hallway and some even waited outside while the decision was being made. Greg Harrison, County Commissioner for Precinct 1, thanked those in attendance for coming, and were then invited by Sheriff Greg Sanchez to a special event where the first decal was placed on a patrol vehicle. The pastors and community leaders in attendance followed the decal placement with prayer.
Today’s events puts Angelina County in a growing number of precincts and states that are adopting the motto to bring about solidarity and strengthen relationships with the community. Sheriff Greg Sanchez said that he has had deputies ask if they could put it on their vehicles and is overwhelmed at the support he is receiving for this.
The donation by Real Graphics to supply materials and labor means that no tax payer dollars were spent on the decals. The Lufkin based graphics company has also made available a decal for civilian vehicles that supports the Angelina County Sheriff and officers, and includes the motto. Stickers can be picked up at the office, located directly across from McDonald’s on Timberland. Donations for the stickers will be accepted at the office, as well.
