Lufkin, Texas (March 2, 2016) – Woodland Heights Medical Center is hosting its twelfth annual Women in Red Luncheon on Thursday, April 28. This year’s featured speaker is Olympic Gold Medalist Shannon Miller.
Shannon Miller remains the most decorated gymnast in American history. This year marks the 20th anniversary since she led the “Magnificent Seven” to the U.S. Women’s first ever team gold, and for the first time for any American gymnast, she captured gold on the balance beam. She has won an astounding 59 International and 49 National competition medals. Since retiring from Olympic competition, Miller has become an advocate for the health and wellness of women and children.
“We are so excited to welcome Shannon to Lufkin and hear her words of motivation,” states Jennifer Stevens, Director of Marketing for Woodland Heights. “Shannon has a great message to share and having her here makes this year’s occasion really special.”
In addition to the featured presentation, the winners of the fifth annual Poetry with Purpose contest will be presented along with the third annual Art with Heart contest…and plenty of prizes too. “This luncheon is a great opportunity for friends to get together for a great lunch, hear an energizing speaker, and take a little time for them,” adds Stevens.
The event will be held from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center on Thursday, April 28. To purchase tickets or reserve a table, call 936-637-8688.
