TxDot Releases List of Flooded Roads

Date:

The weather event this week has produced significant rainfall across Lufkin’s nine-county district and maintenance crews continue to work around the clock in some counties to monitor damage and flooded roadways.

“We have several flooded areas this morning and while water will recede in some areas, with additional predicted rainfall through Saturday, motorists should remain cautious and be on alert for rising water,” said Rhonda Oaks, public information officer. “We can’t urge drivers enough not to drive through water that crosses the roadway. A vehicle can be washed off the roadway with as little as six inches of water. Stay safe and please respect our barriers and message boards warning of high water. Just turn around and take an alternate route.”

The list below could change throughout the day, Friday and into Saturday. Real time roadway conditions throughout the state can be found at drivetexas.org. Immediate alerts of closed and flooded roadways can be found on Twitter at TxDOT Lufkin.
