Angelina College’s Food Truck Fest: A Family Friendly Festival

Date:

The Coalition, Inc. is proud to announce Angelina College’s Food Truck Fest as a platinum-level Family Friendly Festival. The Food Truck Fest was given the platinum-level Family Friendly Festival designation because it is a 100% alcohol-free event. The 2nd annual Food Truck Fest is scheduled for Thursday, August 30th from 5 pm – 9 pm on the AC campus.

Research has shown that one of the most effective ways to reduce underage drinking is to restrict the availability and access of alcohol. In response to the available research, The Coalition formed the Family Friendly Festival partnership to assist local event organizers in controlling the use of alcohol at their public events and festivals. The Food Truck Fest is a 100% alcohol-free event that involves the community and the college in an evening of alcohol-free fun.

The Food Truck Fest will feature trucks from all over East Texas and will have plenty of fun activities. In addition to the food trucks, there will be an inflatable obstacle course and a community involvement fair with interactive activities. The food trucks will be located in front of the administration building beginning at 5 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Student Government Association sponsored Student Food Pantry.

For the past 26 years, The Coalition has focused on eliminating the use of harmful substances by affecting public policy, laws, attitudes and behaviors, all in an effort to foster healthy life-long choices for the local community. For more information about participating in the Family Friendly Festival partnership, contact The Coalition at 936-634-9308.
