Drug-Free All Star Meeting at Lufkin Municipal Cour

Date:

The Drug-Free All Stars are a group of high school seniors throughout Angelina County that are hand selected to serve as role models for their community by living a tobacco, drug, and alcohol-free lifestyle. For their January monthly meeting, the Drug-Free All Stars visited with Judge April Earley at the Lufkin Municipal Court. During their visit, Judge Earley discussed the consequences for underage drug, alcohol, and tobacco use and how choices can affect their futures. Student also saw how Judge Earley handles cases that come to her court and the methods she uses to prevent defendants from continuing to make bad decisions. As a previous Drug-Free All Star, Judge Earley emphasized that students’ choices have an impact and she encouraged the All Stars to make choices that will have a positive influence on others in the community.

Since 1988, The Coalition has focused on eliminating the use of harmful substances by affecting public policy, laws, attitudes and behaviors, all in an effort to foster healthy life-long choices for the local community.
