Kids Superhero: Costume Contest (Houston County)

Yes, you guessed it! We will be hosting a Kids Superhero Costume Contest during our National Night Out Out on Saturday, August 8 at the Crockett Civic Center.
Whether your little hero is a classic crime fighter or an original superhero, we can’t wait to see their amazing costumes!
CATEGORIES
– Tiny Heroes (Ages 0–3)
– Junior Heroes (Ages 4–7)
– Super Squad (Ages 8–12)
ELIGIBILITY
– Open to children ages 0–12.
– Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the event.
– Registration is required before the contest begins.
COSTUME REQUIREMENTS
– Costumes may be homemade or store-bought.
– Original superhero creations are encouraged, but costumes inspired by well-known superheroes are welcome.
– Costumes must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.
– No realistic-looking weapons, sharp objects, or hazardous accessories are permitted.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Judges may score costumes based on:
– Creativity and originality
– Overall appearance
– Attention to detail
– Character presentation or superhero pose
– Enthusiasm and confidence
CONTEST RULES
– The National Nigh Out will begin at 6:00 p.m., and the contest starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Please make sure your little hero is registered and ready to go before the contest begins.
– Parents or guardians may accompany younger children if needed.
– Good sportsmanship is expected from all participants and spectators.
– Judges’ decisions are final.
– By participating, parents/guardians grant permission for photos to be taken and used for promotional purposes unless they notify event organizers otherwise.
SAFETY
– Costumes should not obstruct vision or make walking difficult.
– No pyrotechnics, smoke effects, or battery-powered items that could create a safety hazard.
– Please be respectful of other participants and avoid rough play.
