An ongoing construction project in Groveton in Trinity County will have FM 355 at US 287 closed and traffic detoured for the remainder of the week.
Smith and Company, contractor for the project that is reconstructing the pavement on US 287, has work planned near the intersection of FM 355 throughout the week. The work will include stabilizing the soil beneath the pavement structure with cement treatment prior to placing the asphalt base.
Traffic will be detoured through the week to Front Street in Groveton to FM 2912 for access to SH 94 or US 287. Motorists are urged to remain alert through this work zone and obey all signals, signs and flaggers in the area.
This work will be adjacent to downtown Groveton and caution is urged. Motorists should reduce speed, expect possible delays and remember that traffic fines double when workers are present.
