Lufkin Pro Day Honors Professional Athletes From Lufkin

The Lufkin Pro Day Group is hosting the 7th annual Pro Day Banquet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Lufkin Convention Center. This year’s banquet will honor three former Lufkin High School graduates who have become professional athletes.

Jovorskie Lane graduated from Texas A&M and has played for the NFL in Miami and Tampa Bay as a running back. Tray Hearne graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi and has played for the MLB on the St. Louis Cardinals as a pitcher. The late Pete Runnels graduated from Rice University and has played for MLB in Washington, Boston, and Houston as an infielder.

There will be a reception with the honorees, media, Lufkin Pro Day Group, and Champion Sponsors before the banquet to provide an opportunity to meet the honorees for interviews and pictures.

Tickets are $30 for individuals. Packages include the Coach Sponsorship and MVP Sponsorship. The Coach Sponsorship is $250 for four tickets, and the MVP Sponsorship is $500 for a table of eight.
