Beginning on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 6 pm, New Life Lufkin will host its annual Priceless Conference at the church, located on 4333 State Highway 103, Lufkin, Texas. A kickoff service will be held at the Diboll Correctional Center on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Last year, the theme of the Priceless conference was “Beauty for Ashes,” which centered on suicide. New Life partnered with ADAC (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council) to bring awareness and healing to those suffering with anxiety and severe depression.
Pastor Tony reveals that this year’s theme will be “Welcome Home,” focusing on the Word of God and worship. His goal is to unite the community and invite those abroad, who are afflicted and depressed, to convey that they can come to New Life for refuge, that there is hope for the broken.
“Home is a funny word. When you’re at home, you’re at peace, you’re comfortable. You’re with family,” Pastor Tony said. “You see people genuinely love each other.”
Pastors Tony and Tammy Holder founded New Life in 1998 and have recently celebrated their 25th anniversary of pastoral ministry in East Texas. They have made long strides to ensure that there is an atmosphere of family whenever someone graces the entrance doors, so that freedom is invoked. Pastor Tony believes that the next “Jesus revolution” will be brought about through racial reconciliation and unification; and also through an outpouring of the Spirit.
“It’s not about race, it’s about a sovereign move of the Spirit, where He breaks down people. It’s not tokenism,” Pastor Tony said.
Kenith Jackson, the Adult Ministries Pastor who also manages the LifeCourts basketball facility at New Life Lufkin, was inspired by the fact that the Priceless Conference had only been primarily a black women’s conference and he was seeking someone white to speak. One day, he was refereeing a basketball game, saw Tammy Holder, and blew the whistle to get her attention. He asked if she wanted to come speak and she agreed.
“Pastors drive from 600 miles away just to come to the conference. And they stay the entire time! You can’t just hear about it, you have to be there,” Pastor Kenith said.
Speakers include Wess Morgan (Sunday), Latifah Fleniken (Monday), Bishop Joseph Hall Jr (Tuesday), Cliff DeArmond (Wednesday), and New Life’s own Pastor Tony Holder to wrap it up on Thursday.
One of the keynote speakers, Latifah Fleniken, also the Executive Chief of Staff at New Lufkin said, “When I pulled in to the campus last year, the Holy Ghost just hit me in the chest.”
Last year at the Diboll Correctional Center, 518 people showed up to the service. The entire worship team comes and there are ministers who minister to the prisoners. The prisoners also are fed; this year, 600 pounds of beef was donated by Brookshire Brothers that will aid in serving the prison.
The admission is absolutely free of charge and anyone is invited, of any race, creed, and denomination.
