The Pines Theater Presents Jaci Velasquez

The Pines Theater 2016 season continues Tuesday, September 20, with Jaci Velasquez, well-known Contemporary Christian and Latin pop singer, actress, and radio host.

“Jaci Velasquez was born to be on stage,” said Tara Watson-Watkins, executive director of the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau and artistic director for The Pines. “She started traveling with her father as a singing evangelist when she was nine years old, she sings in English and Spanish, she’s been in movies, she hosts a radio show. She has an amazing gift and she is a powerful performer.”

Velasquez has sold over four million albums, garnered three RIAA certified Platinum recordings, three RIAA certified Gold recordings and sixteen number one radio hits. Contemporary Christian audiences are most familiar with her hit songs, “On My Knees” (A Dove award-winning “Song of the Year”) as well as “God So Loved” and “You’re My God.” She has appeared in three faith based films – “The Encounter,” “Jerusalem Countdown” and “Rumors of Wars.” She is married to Nic Gonzales, lead singer of the Christian group Salvador.
