Pre-Construction Meeting Held in Nacogdoches

Date:

LUFKIN – A pre-construction meeting was held this week at the Nacogdoches Area Office that signals the beginning of a new construction project in Nacogdoches County.

Barricades will be set in the coming days for work to begin on US 59 which will include resurfacing the roadway from US 259 to the Rusk County line. Texas Material Group, Inc., a global Texas company, will serve as a contractor for the $7 million construction project. Work is expected to begin on May 1 and is expected to be completed on July 30, 2024, weather permitting.

Traffic control will be set along with signage to alert motorists of the work and lane closures as work progresses. Motorists are urged to stay alert, reduce speed through the work zone, and be aware of moving machinery and workers near the lanes of traffic.
