Repairs Call For Road Closure of FM 343 in Nacogdoches County

Date:

A portion of FM 343 in Nacogdoches County will be closed for repairs on Wednesday after a culvert beneath the roadway collapsed on Friday, also causing a portion of the roadway to separate.

Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews in Nacogdoches County closed the roadway for a short time Friday night  in order to make temporary repairs with final repairs scheduled to be completed on Wednesday.

Message boards warning motorists of the closure will be placed at the intersection of FM 343 and FM1648 in Nacogdoches County and FM 343 and FM 851 in Rusk County.

Motorists are urged to obey all signage, follow message board instructions and be alert to workers in the area. The road will reopen once repairs are completed.
