Ribbon Cutting: South First Street Revitalization

Date:

Construction for Months

As you all know, downtown Lufkin has been under construction since April. Because of the rain, it dragged the project on for what felt like forever. However, after the rain let up and the weather got dry, the construction project finally picked back up. In fact, finishing construction went quite swift. Now, they’re just putting in some final touches before the ribbon cutting this Thursday.

When is the Ribbon Cutting?

The roads finally being freed of all the construction and blockages has been long-awaited. Not just because it was inconvenient to walk around all of it, but also because now businesses in downtown can finally get to normal. Due to construction, it was a hassle to drive or even walk anywhere in downtown. All of those local shops and places to eat lost a lot of business because of the difficulty getting from place to place. They’ll surely be relieved when business is booming again.

The ribbon cutting for the revitalized streets and sidewalks of downtown is on October 17th, Thursday, 2024 at 10am on 108 S First St. You’ll definitely want to be there! It’ll be a chance to stop by all the local shops, bakeries and more. There will also be a complimentary water and coffee station outside Standpipe Coffee as you make your way down the revitalized streets of downtown Lufkin.

Mark Your Calendars!

Add this Thursday, October 17th at 10am to your calendar as a day to be remembered! First Street truly has been revitalized, and it’s beautiful. It won’t be boring, that you can count on. Many downtown businesses will have special offers and promotions in honor of the grand opening! It’s a perfect time to explore the shops and restaurants in the area.
