Texans Standing Tall’s Youth Leadership Council

Date:

Three Angelina County Drug Free All-Star and one former Angelina County Drug Free All-Star were selected to participate in statewide Youth Leadership Council with Texans Standing Tall.

The students who were selected are: Kendrion Ferrell, graduate from Hudson High School, McKenzi Crager from Lufkin High School, Myrka Lila from Lufkin High School, and Kadie Beth Wisener from Cri.

These Angelina County Drug Free All-Stars traveled to the Youth Leadership Council retreat in Burnet where they were able to learn the most recent trends of underage drinking and other harmful substances. Youth Leadership Council is a youth workgroup that is made up of youth from around the state who are dedicated to being alcohol-free, tobacco-free and drug-free. The students will have to complete a drug-free campaign/project for their community.

We wish them the best of luck as they begin their term with the Youth Leadership Council.
