The Salvation Army of Lufkin Launches New School of Performing Arts Music Program for Local Youth

Registration is Now Open for Fall Classes Covering Voice, Piano, Brass, Percussion, Dance, and Recorder

Lufkin, Texas (September 1, 2026) – The Salvation Army of Lufkin is excited to announce the launch of its new School of Performing Arts Music Program, designed to enrich the lives of young people across East Texas through high-quality art and music instruction. Registration is officially open, and community members are invited to sign up in person at The Salvation Army office located at 412 S. 3rd St., Lufkin, TX 75901.

In Angelina County, many children with a passion for learning music face financial barriers and a limited availability of affordable community programs. To bridge this gap, The Salvation Army of Lufkin is offering Scholarships for families that may need assistance paying the full tuition.

Program Details:

Tracks Offered: Voice, Piano, Brass, Recorder, Percussion, and Dance

Start Date: Wednesday, September 9

Class Schedule: Wednesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Tuition: $40 per month (Scholarships are available upon request to ensure all interested children can participate)
