The Salvation Army Receives Grant from Texas Veterans Commission to Help Veterans in Need

Lufkin, Texas (March 5, 2024) – The Salvation Army of Lufkin is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Texas Veterans Commission to provide rental and utility assistance to veterans and their families in Angelina and Nacogdoches Counties. The grant, totaling $100,000, aims to support at least 125 households and alleviate the financial burden faced by our local heroes.

“We are so appreciative to receive this grant from the Texas Veterans Commission to help veterans in need through rental and utility assistance,” said Captain Jenifer Philips, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army of Lufkin. “This funding will enable us to make a significant impact in the lives of our veterans and their families.”
