Traffic Changes Coming Next Week in Nacogdoches

Date:

The Lufkin District has two events planned for next week on US 59 that will impact traffic in the Nacogdoches area:

  • Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 14, crews will perform a concrete paving repair on the northbound main lane, south of Spradley Street.  This repair is scheduled for four days, weather permitting, and will require different traffic configurations throughout the day and night. Because traffic will be reduced to one northbound lane, motorists should expect delays.
  • Beginning Thursday, Nov. 16, crews will modify the southbound traffic pattern on US 59, just south of the Spradley intersection to facilitate the construction of the southbound frontage road. Because of the potential traffic impact and the new location aspect of the traffic pattern change, there will be law enforcement helping to facilitate these efforts.

There are message boards already in place notifying motorists of these activities.  Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed, stay alert to changing traffic patterns, and expect delays through this heavily traveled area.
