Summertime is here, the kids are bored, and everyone wants some kind of relief from the stifling heat. And what better way to do so than to make snow cones in the comfort of your own home!Â
- BlueberryÂ
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 cup of blueberries
Process:
- Put the blueberries and sugar in a pot and let simmer for 3 minutes
- As it simmers, mash the mixture with a spoon
- When the 3 minutes are complete and the mixture is mashed appropriately, blend it up in a blender
- Let the mixture cool, then strain it to ensure there are no seeds in the syrup
NOTE: If the syrup is too thick, add some water. If the syrup is not sweet enough, simply add some sugar to meet your acquired taste.
- Next, rinse the blender out and then blend some ice until it has a soft consistency.Â
- Place the ice in a cup, pour the syrup on top and serve!
2. Strawberry
This one is extremely simple and pretty much just requires some lovely blending skills. It is also one of my favorite snow cone flavors!
Ingredients:
- 10 ounces of thawed, frozen strawberries
- 1/4 cup of agave nectarÂ
Process:
- Blend the strawberries and agave nectar
- blend some ice until it has a soft consistency
- Place the ice in a cup, pour the syrup on top and serve!
3. Banana
Ingredients:
- 3 Bananas
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
Process:
- mix a cup of sugar and a cup of water togetherÂ
- Boil the mixture with medium to high temperature for 1 minute
- Let the mixture cool
- Add the 3 bananas and the syrup mixture into the blender
- Blend until consistent
- Place the ice in a cup, pour the syrup on top and serve!
These snow cone recipes make for a delicious and easy snack. Not to mention, it goes very well with the summer heat. As always, enjoy this chilly snack with your family and friends. It wouldn’t hurt to sit by the pool while you do so!Â
