National Motto Coming To Lufkin City Emergency Vehicles, City Hall

Date:

The Lufkin City Council has unanimously approved a resolution to add ‘In God We Trust’ to the city’s emergency service vehicles at the meeting held Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015.

The decision comes just a week after the Angelina County Commissioners’ Court approved the donation of decals from Real Graphics displaying the national motto on Sheriff’s department patrol vehicles. Lufkin joins Childress and Kirbyville as well as other Texas cities that have chosen to display the national motto as a way to bring the community together and to create a sense of unity.

The resolution approved by the City also allows for the display of ‘In God We Trust’ inside City Hall.

The Council approved the decision to a nearly full room with several pastors in attendance.
