AC Athletics Weekly Update

Date:

Roadrunner Baseball

The Roadrunners were on the road all week (which is why I don’t have any pics). AC fell 16-11 in a single game at Temple College on Monday, then dropped both games of a doubleheader at Paris College on Saturday, losing 14-10 and 8-4. AC has a pair of key conference doubleheaders this week at home: Navarro College on Tuesday (weather permitting) and Bossier Parish Community College on Friday.

Lady Roadrunner Softball

oadrunner Softball:

The Lady Roadrunners have put together a five-game winning streak, including last Friday’s 6-2 win over non-conference foe LSU-Eunice. AC then swept Galveston College 8-0, 9-7 at home on Thursday before taking a road sweep at Alvin College on Saturday, winning 6-2 and 8-0.

The Lady ‘Runners now have a long road stretch ahead, traveling to Blinn College on Wednesday and Galveston College on Friday.

AC Soccer

AC Soccer’s women split its spring games at Stephen F. Austin University this week, falling 1-0 in the first match before rebounding for a 1-0 lead later in the day.

This Week’s Games:

Tuesday, 4/12 (weather permitting): AC Baseball hosts Navarro College in a conference doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.

Wednesday, 4/13: AC Softball at Blinn College in Brenham, doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.

Friday, 4/15: AC Baseball vs. Bossier Parish Community College, doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.

*NOTE: A dedication ceremony will take place beginning at 11:30 a.m. (right before the AC baseball games vs. Bossier Parish CC). The Roadrunners’ baseball field officially will be christened “Poland Field” after the announcement earlier this year. The field naming is in honor of former AC Board members Robert Poland, Sr. and Robert Poland, Jr.
