Music Instructors Perform for Crowd in ACA Gallery
Angelina College music instructors on Thursday conducted a “Faculty Music Forum” for a large crowd in the Angelina Center for the Arts Gallery on the AC campus.
From soaring vocals to instrumental solos, those instructors displayed the very talents they hope to instill in their students.
Performers and their chosen pieces included the following:
Chance Moore (guitar), “The Place I’ll Return to Someday” (from “Final Fantasy IX”) by composer Nobuo Uematsu; Sarah Jackson (soprano, with pianist Beckie Compton accompanying), “In Uomini” (from “Cosi fan tutte) by composer W.A. Mozart; Donna Dear (piano), “Romance in D Major” by composer Florence Price; Charlotte Davis (soprano, with pianist Beckie Compton accompanying), “Io son L’umile ancella” by composer Francesco Cilea; Paul Berler (alto saxophone, with pianist Beckie Compton accompanying), “Sonata, movement II” by composer Phil Woods; and Tate Ashby (piano), Tico-Tico no fuba” by composer Zequinha de Abreu.
