Five Angelina College students have been selected for the Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir, according to Beckie Compton, instructor of music at AC.
Shelby Perkinson, Soprano 1 (Wiley East HS), Matthew Oliver, Tenor 1, Omar Al-Mahmeed, Tenor 2 (Livingston HS) Joshua Robinson, Bass 1 (Hudson HS) and Jad O’Connor, Bass 2 (Huntington HS) will from Feb. 10-14 be in San Antonio rehearsing and performing with TTYCASC’s 140-voice choir in conjunction with the annual Texas Music Educator’s Association convention.
Each is a member of the Angelina College chorale under Compton’s direction.
The TMEA All-State Concerts take place on Saturday, Feb. 13 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. The TTYCASC performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the CC Hemisfair Ballroom.
