Picnic, Walk Scheduled for April
Angelina College’s Rockin’ Roadrunner student group is kicking into high gear for the fight against cancer.
Having already helped with the campus’ Coaches vs. Cancer events held earlier this year, the team will focus on a couple of key events taking place this week and next.
On Thursday, April 21, AC will host its annual Health Fair and Campus picnic from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Events include the Kiss a Pig contest, in which several members of the staff will compete for the chance to pucker up with a pig by generating the highest number of donations.
On the same day, staff members who won an earlier contest will have the chance to dress AC president Dr. Michael Simon in the costume of their choice.
On Friday, April 29, the team will assist with the Relay for Life Walk at Lufkin Middle School beginning at 7 p.m. and concluding at 2 a.m.
All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society of Angelina County. For further information, contact Suzi Honeywell at shoneywell@angelina.edu.
