Bridge Work on US 190 at Lake Livingston starts Oct. 19

Date:

Drivers who cross Lake Livingston on US 190 should give themselves extra time starting Monday, Oct. 19.

TxDOT’s Lufkin District says work on the US 190 bridge over the lake, between Onalaska and Oakhurst in Polk County, is expected to begin that day. Crews will repaint the bridge, repair concrete and guard rail, and overlay the bridge deck with epoxy.

Traffic patterns will change while the work is going on, and temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic on the bridge. That means waiting your turn rather than rolling straight across, so the drive from one shore to the other will take longer than usual.

Access to the Patrick’s Ferry boat ramp will not be affected.

The contractor is Cekra, Inc., based in Wilmington, North Carolina.

TxDOT asks drivers to plan for possible delays and to use caution approaching and traveling through the work zone.

For more information, contact Tim Monzingo at (936) 208-5651. The Lufkin District also posts updates on Facebook, X, Instagram and Nextdoor.
