COMMISSIONERS APPROVE NEW PROJECT

Date:

Texas Transportation Commissioners met in a virtual meeting on Thursday and approved more than $420.3 million for new construction projects across the state, with more than $5.2 approved for the Lufkin District.

Angelina County was approved for a construction project on FM 841, from FM 325 to US 69, that will include guardrail replacement, safety treating fixed objects and increasing pavement width from 24-feet to 28-feet. A.L. Helmcamp, Inc., Buffalo, TX, will serve as contractor for the $5.2 million construction project. A pre-construction meeting will be scheduled in coming days to determine a date for work to begin.

As this project begins, motorists are urged to reduce speed and stay alert for workers and moving equipment through the work zone. Obey all traffic control and suggested work zone speed limits. Fines double when workers are present.
