How To Create DIY Halloween Costumes – Part 1

Date:

Running late on making costumes this year? No problem, I have the perfect solution.

Here are a few costume ideas that will take you only few minutes to pull together and make you look festive!

My first costume idea is a lumberjack. To make a lumberjack costume, all you need is a flannel shirt, a toy ax,  jeans, and knee boots.

To dress as Where’s Waldo, all you need is a red and white striped shirt and some black glasses.

To make a bird costume, you can get a scarf that has feathers on it; or, like I chose, a peacock patterned scarf. Wear it with black leggings underneath and you can tie it around you waist and/or wear it as wings. The make up and hair for this one really make it fun. It can be completely your own.

Another easy costume would be to dress as a zookeeper. Get some khaki cargo pants, a brown polo shirt, and combat boots.  Hair slicked back with simple makeup will help complete the costume. Then stack as many stuffed animals as you can into a wagon.

A rocker chick is a classic. Go heavy on the dark make up, a vintage T-shirt,  and some torn jeans with Converse sneakers.

You can also look at your favorite movie characters or book characters and imitate their outfits as much as possible. It doesn’t have to be exact; it’s more fun to put your own spin on it.

Make sure to come back next week for part 2 for Halloween makeup tips and tricks!
