Curtain Rises Sept. 16 For Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Date:

The curtains rise September 16 and 17 at 7:30 pm at the Temple Theater and the national tour of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT – one of Broadway’s most loved musicals – steps on stage. The award-winning musical is based on the story of Joseph from the Bible’s Book of Genesis and the “coat of many colors”. The show has little spoken dialogue; and greatly depends on the music and song lyrics to bring the message to the audience. Its family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music make it one of the most enduring shows of all time.

Half-price tickets are available for youth 17 and under. Purchase 15 tickets for your group or organization and receive a 15% discount. All unsold tickets go on sale for half-price beginning one hour before performance time. The Arts Alliance is thrilled to bring JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT to Lufkin along with show sponsor First Bank & Trust East Texas. 2015-2016 15th Anniversary Season sponsors are Georgia Pacific and CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial.

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT is the irresistible family musical about the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son. The first collaboration of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and lyricist Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King), JOSEPH blends pop, country and rock into an uplifting, technicolored story of biblical proportions. Retelling the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colors, this magical musical is full of unforgettable songs including Those Canaan Days, Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer raved: “This new production of Joseph is an exuberant success that stays true to all of the original’s joyfulness, humor and fantastic songs while subtly updating it for a 2014 audience.”

Produced by TROIKA Entertainment, LLC, the tour features Scenic Design by Beowulf Boritt, Costume Design by Jennifer Caprio, Lighting Design by Howell Binkley, Sound Design by John Shivers and David Patridge, Projection & Video Design by Daniel Brodie, and Music Supervision by David Kreppel.
