AC Singers Season Opens With Performance At Forest Festival

With its first scheduled performances looming in just weeks, Angelina College’s talented song-and-dance group The AC Singers has released its schedule and announced its lineup for 2015.

The Singers’ fall performance schedule kicks off with a Sept. 17 performance at the East Texas Forest Festival. The group is scheduled to take the stage of the Angelina County Expo Center at 7 p.m.

The rest of the fall schedule includes the Pineywoods Fair in Nacogdoches at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8; the Texas State Fair in Dallas on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16 and 17; the Fine Arts Preview Day at Angelina College’s Temple Theater at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30; and the Holiday Concert with the AC Chorale at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3 in the Temple Theater.

The group typically adds performances throughout the fall and winter months.

In addition, the Singers announced their lineup for the fall. Returning performers include Dance Captain Sarah Barton (Nacogdoches), MaryJo Carlton (Hudson), Omar Al-Mahmeed (Livingston), Kyree Anderson (Wells), Jad O’Connor (Huntington), Josh Robinson (Hudson) and Sound Technician Michael Mendoza (Lufkin).

Newcomers include Mattie Fortenberry (Spurger), Shelby Perkinson (Wiley East), Tiara Powell (Lufkin) and Collin Wise (Lufkin).

Beckie Compton is the Director, and Stacy Dicks is the choreographer.
