The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce takes its monthly after-hours mixer to an emergency room this month. Alive After Five is set for Thursday, Nov. 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., hosted by Excel ER Nacogdoches.
The Chamber promises drinks, fall appetizers, door prizes and giveaways, plus what it calls ER-themed photo opportunities and “a few ER-themed surprises.” There is no sign-up sheet — the notice says no appointment necessary. Bring business cards.
Alive After Five is the Chamber’s standing evening event, and the host changes month to month. October’s was at Commercial Bank of Texas, which used it to mark 125 years in business.

Two leadership classes meet this month
The Chamber’s two leadership programs both have November sessions, and both are for people already enrolled. The Leaders of Tomorrow crew — the LOT Crew — has an excursion Tuesday, Nov. 10, and all members of the 2026-2027 class are expected. Leadership Nacogdoches holds its Education session Thursday, Nov. 12, and the same goes for its 2026-2027 class. The October Leadership Nacogdoches group spent its session on higher education at SFA.

The next episode of “Clocking In with J. Soul” goes behind the scenes at the Chamber, past the ribbon cuttings and the Texas Blueberry Festival, to the staff who work with local businesses. The Chamber is pointing members to it this month.
New members
Two businesses and organizations joined the Chamber this month: Friends of Nacogdoches Public Library and Avir of Nacogdoches. The full membership list is in the Chamber’s online directory.
The Chamber is also pointing members to City Corner, the City of Nacogdoches’ monthly rundown, which this month covers holiday events and the Nacogdoches Historic Skills Fair.
