Josh Ward to Open Houston County Fair

Date:

Country singer Josh Ward will open this year’s Houston County Fair on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Crockett Civic Center at 7 pm, located at 110 Edmiston Drive.

Ward first discovered his voice while singing old gospel hymns at church as a little child. Soon enough, while, in high school, he started singing in the parking lots of rodeo events. The reactions and responses from onlookers moved him to form his own band. His first album, “Hard Whiskey“, was released on May 16, 2007. His album “Promises“, released in 2012, gave him three #1 singles on the Texas Music Charts. And the album that followed, “Holding Me Together“, released in 2015, gave him four #1 singles on the Texas Regional Radio Chart, making 7 consecutive #1s for Ward in just over 3 years, and this incredible feat making him one of the heavyweights of country music.

The fair will run through April 1, 2023, and will include a youth livestock event, and a home and garden-fresh floral baked goods competition held at the civic center.

Tickets for the kick-off concert will be $25 per person and can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/505351910167.
