Living with Chronic Pain Workshop

Are you, or someone you know, living with constant pain? An online Workshop on Living with Chronic Pain is being offered at no charge by the Area Agency on Aging. The class will be held via Zoom from 10:00 to 12:30 on Wednesdays from April 5 – May 10. Workshop topics include: Fatigue & Getting a Good Night’s Sleep, Healthy Eating for Pain, and The Mind-Body Connection & Distraction. Participants will receive a free resource book, ‘Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Pain’, a $26 value.

Participants should be committed to attending all 6 of the weekly 2-hour 30-minute classes (break included) and be at least 60 years old. They must reside in Angelina, Houston, Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity or Tyler Counties or the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas Reservation. Participants must have access to a computer & Internet, as well as being familiar with using a computer, or have someone with him/her during the class who is computer savvy.

They must also preregister by calling Debbie Davidson at 936-634-2247 ext. 5309, or email deb.davidson@detcog.gov.

The online workshop on Living with Chronic Pain is being offered by Deep East Texas Council of Government’s Area Agency on Aging. The course material was developed in collaboration with Stanford University & is an Evidence-Based program.
