Lane Closure Planned Next Week on US 69 South

Date:

LUFKIN – Motorists traveling US 69 South near Huntington will experience single lane traffic next week as a construction project to widen the roadway continues.

Crews will conduct intermittent lane closures throughout the week as hot mix applications are applied from the city limits of Huntington to FM 844. The lane closures are scheduled to begin on Monday with the applications completed by Friday, weather permitting.

The work is part of a $10 million construction project planned to widen the roadway from two to four lanes. Pinto Construction, Nacogdoches, is contractor for the project.

Motorists should reduce speed in the area and be prepared to stop. Traffic will be led through the single lane by a pilot car. Drivers are urged to stay alert and obey all signage. This is an active TxDOT work zone. Be alert to workers and moving equipment in the area.
