Lady Eagles Get Hat Trick from Okoronkwo
The Angelina College Lady Roadrunners saw their three-game win streak come to a sliding halt on the wet turf at Jase Magers Field, with the Northeast Texas Community College Lady Eagles taking a 3-0 conference win over the Lady ‘Runners in Lufkin.
Lady Eagle Esther Okoronkwo scored a hat trick for NTCC, finding the net twice in the first half – those goals occurring nine minutes apart – and another in the second.
The game was supposed to have been part of a doubleheader with the Roadrunner men’s team, but storms in the area forced a postponement of that game. The ‘Runners and Eagles will make up the game at a later date.
The Lady Roadrunners (3-4, 1-2) will host Brookhaven College in a non-conference game at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Jase Magers Field at Lufkin High School.
