The Spooky Season is Kicking off

It feels like just yesterday was New Year’s Day of 2024, and now it’s already October with the holidays fast approaching again. Time has flown by, just like how this month will pass in the blink of an eye with all of the festivities coming up keeping everyone busy. As Halloween gets closer, there will be so many spooky events in the coming weeks. Zoo boo at the Lufkin zoo, the Boo Bash in the downtown plaza, and a few other events are only the tip of the iceberg. Take some time with your kids, siblings, parents, friends, or whoever you want to go with and go out for some spooky season fun!

Ellen Trout Zoo’s Zoo Boo

Zoo Boo has been around for a long time–since 1989 to be exact. This Halloween tradition has been around for 35 years, but it never lost its popularity! This is a fun event whether you’re volunteering or attending. The kids absolutely love it!

Grab your little goblins and ghouls for two nights of fun trick-or-treating at Ellen Trout Zoo!
Zoo Boo, presented by Wright GMC, is a family-friendly Halloween event that offers a safe environment for children and families to have some fright-free spooky fun. Children can participate in fun games, compete in a costume contest, and collect sweets from various stations throughout the zoo!

FOETZ Members and children under 4 get in free, and for non-members, regular zoo admission prices.

Lufkin’s Boo Bash on the Plaza

Get ready for a spooktacular evening of family-friendly Halloween fun! Head to downtown on Friday, October 25th from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center’s Plaza for an unforgettable Boo Bash!

Enjoy trick-or-treating, live music, and engaging games hosted by the Museum of East Texas. Whether you’re coming in costume or just here for the festivities, it’s going to be a frightfully good time! Boo Bash is a great way to spend some quality time with your kids this Halloween.

Admission is FREE and open to all!

Bluey’s Boo Bash in Nac

Bluey is a cartoon most, if not all, children love. It’ll be a day filled with excitement for anyone who loves Bluey the dog!

Go on down to Nacogdoches, Texas, and have fun at East Texas Party Headquarters with Bluey! This is a family friendly indoor Halloween event with games and crafts.

Times: October 11th from 6-8, and October 12th from 10-12.

I-Spy Halloween Trail

The I-Spy Halloween Trail in Nacogdoches will be filled with fun! Everyone remembers playing I-Spy as a kid in the car. Well with this I-Spy Halloween game, there’s more to it than just passing the time.

The Texas Forestry Museum will have its I-Spy Halloween Trail again this year. Families are invited to hunt for Halloween characters and win fun prizes! The event is free to the public and trail activity will be from Saturday, October 19th – Thursday, October 31st, from 10am-5pm. Don’t miss it!

Don’t Miss the Fun

There’s so much to do this month with Halloween right around the corner. Not only will there be events, but haunted houses will be up and running. Now that you know some of the events that will be happening soon, don’t miss out on them! You will definitely want to spend time with your family this spooky season. Go to haunted houses, watch scary movies, go trick-or-treating, eat candy, go to a boo bash, and have fun!
