What’s In: Natural Beauty

Date:

It’s 2016 and, contrary to what you may see in the media and around you in everyday life, more is not always the best. In fact, that old saying, ‘less is more,’ describes exactly what you will be seeing in beauty and fashion this season. As we’re about to enter into fall, I’m going to let you in on a little secret: Natural beauty is back in style.

I know that probably shocked you, especially since the media does nothing but advertise the beauty habits of the rich and famous, but I’m here to walk you through it. Most of the latest trends in fashion involve something open, ripped, cutout, transparent, mini, cropped, etc. We’ve become obsessed with diminishing the amount of clothing we wear while still looking presentable and fashionable. Similar things are happening in the world of makeup and beauty.

Yes, it was popular (and still is) to contour/highlight your face and dress it up with a dramatic eye and bold lip. But going into this new style season, sophisticated makeup styles are making an exit and going au naturale is coming back – kind of.

When I say natural, I use the term loosely. This look doesn’t involve leaving the house without an ounce of makeup on. Actually, this look involves using makeup to create an au naturale effect. Here are some ways to do it:

Keep your skin healthy. Wash, moisturize, and protect, by using a 800-6282-12concealer, primer or concealer with SPF.

Get a good primer. Primer further protects the skin by absorbing oils and covering larger pores.

Liquid foundation. Liquid foundation tends to blend better with skin as opposed to a powder foundation that just sits on top of the skin.
No heavy or dark shades. Lightly apply mascara, avoid heavy eyeliner (or eyeliner altogether), and gently fill in brows.

Natural/Earthy tones & shades. If eye shadow is applied, it should be in soft and subtle shades that are similar to skin tone. The same applies to blush.

By following these tips you’ll be able to jump in with the season’s newest beauty trend.
