Woodland Heights Medical Center is happy to announce that Stephen Bennett, RN, has been named as the new Director of Emergency Services for the hospital.

Previously, Bennett, who is a native of East Texas, served as the Trauma Program Coordinator since coming to the facility earlier this year. “I am honored to be part of the Emergency Services team at Woodland Heights,” says Bennett. “We have a great group and I am excited about the future.”

Bennett has worked in healthcare for more than 16 years and is experienced in a wide range of patient care including EMS, surgery, emergency services and trauma. “We are happy to welcome Stephen and are confident in his ability to lead the Emergency Services department in the right direction,” states Cathy Busbee, Chief Nursing Officer.

Bennett graduated in 1999 from the EMS program at Angelina College and in 2010 with his Registered Nursing Degree. Stephen and his wife, Lori, an educator at Lufkin ISD, have two young children.
