Past and current members of the Board and Administration for Crimson Christian Academy broke ground on their new location, Thursday, July 7.
The lot is located off East Loop 287 behind the Lufkin Military Veteran Peer Network on the corner of N. Medford Drive and Moffett Road.
“We believe that building a school that will house approximately 200 students will open the doors to more people,” said Crimson Christian Academy Board President Jeff Fatheree. “Our goal is to, at some point, be able to take in some of the at risk students in this district.”
Councilman Robert Shankle, representative for Ward 2 where the K-12 school will be located, believes its presence will be beneficial for this district. “Having Crimson Christian Academy in this area is a dream come true for them, but also for us in Ward 2, in this part of the city,” Shankle said.
CCA began in 2009 by concerned parents and teachers who saw need for junior high and high school Christian education in East Texas. Beginning with only four students, CCA has grown to now include K-5 through high school.
