CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial asked Angelina County high school students to name our new da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system.

The winning choice was R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Beast) from TJ Marshall, a Central High School student.

Well-documented research shows that minimally invasive surgical procedures benefit patients in multiple ways – reduced trauma to the body, less scarring, reduced blood loss, less post-operative pain and discomfort, less risk of infection, shorter hospital stay, and quicker return to normal daily activities.

CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial showcased its new robotic system this past spring, inviting members of the public, as well as local high school students to test drive a simulated robot.
