NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS – The City of Nacogdoches Animal Services and Adoption Center will join the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative this August. The Nacogdoches Humane Society has partnered with Animal Services to waive adoption fees for approved applications submitted from August 10 through 24.
The nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year, and they hope to continue the trend of promoting pet adoption and donation to local shelters. This initiative was started in 2015 by NBC and Telemundo stations in North Texas. Since its beginning, the program has led to over one million adoptions nationwide and raised millions of dollars for shelters and pet related charities.
