Closure Scheduled for Railroad Work

Date:

Motorists should prepare for a detour on Sunday, Feb. 12 in Nacogdoches.

Union Pacific Railroad is scheduled to replace the railroad crossing on SL 224 East in Nacogdoches on Feb. 12 that will require traffic to be rerouted throughout the day. Nacogdoches TxDOT crews will close the roadway beginning at 7 a.m. at FM 2863 (Press Road) to FM 1275 (University Drive).

Traffic should choose alternate routes around the area during work hours. Work is expected to be completed by 5 pm, weather permitting. TxDOT will display message boards reminding motorists of the closure. There will also be crews to monitor traffic and assist with barricades and patch work as railroad employees complete this work.

Motorists are urged to stay alert and be attentive to all lighted message boards and barricades in the area. Choose alternate routes to alleviate delays and congestion during work hours. For a complete list of closures, visit drivetexas.org.

Work schedules are subject to change in inclement weather. For more information, contact Rhonda.Oaks@txdot.gov or (936) 633-4395.
