SH 21 West Closure Planned for Nacogdoches on Wednesday

Date:

LUFKIN – Motorists traveling on SH 21 West will be detoured Wednesday because of a construction project that will be completed by the end of the work day, weather permitting.

Crews from TxDOT and the City of Nacogdoches will close the eastbound lanes of SH 21 West near the Nacogdoches Police Department for most of the day as work to mill and inlay the road is done. The closure will be from Bonita Creek to BU 59.

Motorists needing to travel eastbound on SH 21 will be detoured to Pearl Street. Motorists are advised to choose alternate routes. Delays and traffic congestion in the area are expected through the day during peak travel hours.
Drivers are urged to reduce speed in the area, respect all signage and traffic control devices and stay alert to workers and moving equipment. For more updates on closures and work statewide, visit drivetexas.org
For more information on this and other Lufkin District projects, contact Rhonda.Oaks@txdot.gov or (936) 633-4395.
