AUSTIN — As Spring Break arrives in Texas, the Texas Department of Transportation continues the “Plan While You Can” impaired driving campaign in an effort to reduce crashes and save lives among young drivers. The campaign urges drivers to plan ahead for a sober ride home while utilizing the “Plan While You Can” interactive dodgeball game to show the effects of alcohol on a driver’s reaction time.

During Spring Break 2017* in Texas, there were 410 crashes involving young adults** driving under the influence of alcohol. Those crashes led to 20 fatalities and 48 serious injuries.
