Speed Networking, A Burger Battle Reveal and A New Art Show Fill The Week in Nacogdoches

Date:

The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce has two business events on the calendar in the first week of November, and the one to sign up for early has a hard cap on the door.

Speed Networking, Nov. 4

Speed Networking, presented by SERVPRO of Lufkin/S. Nacogdoches County, is set for Wednesday, Nov. 4. The format is what it sounds like — a run of short conversations with other business people, with breakfast and door prizes worked in. The Chamber is holding it to the first 30 registrants, so it’s one to reserve rather than walk into. Bring business cards. Register at Nacogdoches.org or call the Chamber at 936-560-5533.

The point is to walk out with names you can use — customers, referral partners, people to work with — instead of a stack of brochures.

Ribbon cutting Nov. 5

Spot on Pest Control gets its Chamber ribbon cutting Thursday, Nov. 5. The Chamber’s board of directors meets Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Around town

Downtown has the Main Street Burger Battle live reveal Tuesday, Oct. 27. History After Dark is Thursday, Oct. 29. Friday, Oct. 30 brings the SFA Teacher Career Fair and the Stone Fort Halloween Party, and the Nacogdoches Farmers Market is open Saturday, Oct. 31.

Two things run longer. “Cosmic Debris,” new work by Wally Knight, opened Saturday, Oct. 24 and stays up through Saturday, Nov. 28. Adopt-a-Family for Christmas is taking sign-ups from now through Thursday, Dec. 3.

The Chamber is at 2516 North St., Nacogdoches. Call 936-560-5533 or go to Nacogdoches.org. The Chamber notes that community items carried in its weekly briefing aren’t an endorsement of the event or business.
